Main Attraction (CMRC / East Peak Resort Chair lift)
Chugach Mountain Recreation Center / East Peak resort would provide a year round, 4,700 vertical foot chair lift in Valdez, Alaska with over 5,500 acres of terrain (20% beginner, 50% intermediate and 30% expert), with our outstanding customer service catering to each individual customer’s needs and skill levels. Our chairlift or series of chairlifts would travel over 18,000 feet in length and would have multiple pick-up drop-off points at various elevations and terrain grades. This center will capitalize on Valdez’s outstanding snow pack and beautiful terrain, our existing status in the worldwide skiing, snowboarding and mountaineering marketplace, while still providing a safe but thrilling mountain experience for all visitors. With our outstanding views and above tree line terrain summer visitors will get to experience the incredible Chugach mountain range. Current bid estimate from Doppelmayr / CTEC for turn key world class Chondola system is 17.9 million, this chairlift would move 1,200 people an hour. Other options include smaller or used chairlifts to operate the same route, this may save millions, but lowers the world class appeal and increases future maintenance cost. CHAIRLIFT / CHONDOLA STATS: UP TO 18,000 FEET IN LENGTH UP TO 4,700 VERTICAL FEET IN VERTICAL TRAVEL UP TO 4 ON / OFF STATIONS TOP TO BOTTOM 5 SMALLER POMA STYLE GROUND LIFTS FOR FURTHER BOWL ACCESS
Secondary Attraction (Water park / Spa)
“Wave House” style indoor water park / world class spa facility located in the base area. This facility would be a major four season draw both locally and internationally, as well as providing a family friendly hot spot. Facility would include a FLOW RIDER and or SURF RIDER pool system (wavehouse.com), heated indoor / outdoor pool (swim under wall) with slide and or diving boards, hot tubs, sauna, steam baths, and full spa facility. This facility would feature local rock and wood for a rustic natural motif, tropical plants and large windows would open the facility to the outdoors.
Power Generation (Attraction Power Supply)
In an effort to become power sustainable we will be looking into renewable alternative energy sources such as an abundance of Wind and Hydro power, and the possibility of Geothermal wells. As a starting point we will begin investigating innovative Hydro-Electric systems to power a 200 to 500 KW generator, this power would supply both attractions, as well as power any other structures or residential housing, this would be backed up with a diesel fired backup generator. We anticipate generating from 200 to 500 KW from a simple engine / generator run by year-round gravity fed Slater Creek water. By becoming power self sufficient we avoid power cost, outages and receive the benefits of becoming a “green power” innovator and leader, as well as establishing our own power generation brand.

Currently 16 residential plots are being proposed, these lots are approximately 45,000 square feet, and located on the northern end of the property next to Valdez Glacier Lake.
