AK BOMMER HISTORY
Alaskan Bommer custom snow boards are hand built in Thompson Pass, Alaska, by legendary extreme snow boarder Donny Mills. The snowboard company came about in Valdez in 1993, after many years of riding on regular "factory" snowboards, Mills had decided he had enough of the small, floppy boards made at the time, so he pursued the art of hand building his own big mountain rides. In the beginning the boards where quite primitive, but the idea had spawned, within two years the boards had lost weight gained strength, and had become the best board you could ride on big mountains. Now 18 years later the boards are better than ever, sporting a solid carbon fiber top sheet, light hardwood core, clear or black base, custom graphics, and some of the most innovative design features in the market today such as MEGA-TRACTION, ROCKER, and DUAL CAMBER, . Each board is an individual work of art, custom made one at a time by the only snowboard manufactures in Alaska. Also available are: custom skis, split boards, surf boards, and other custom fabrications.

"AK BOMMER BOYZ"
VALDEZ SLOPE-SIDE HISTORY The 90's had just begun and so had the world-wide passion for snowboarding, at this point Valdez had become the pinnacle of the sport, if you rode in Alaska you had to be a rock star. Competitions such as World Extreme Skiing and Snowboarding pushed the standards and limits to new heights and paved the way for "King Of The Hill", "Alaska Local Snowboarding Championships", international Extreme and Freeride events, and eventually all the way to the X-games. As the years progressed so had the prices for heli runs, in the good old days plastic chips labeled Airplane or Helicopter where sold for $25 or $35, a Hooters Bar And Grill built out of a dilapidated Atco unit appeared in the AWA parking lot, times were GOOD! several years later you would be lucky to get a single lift for under $125, THANK GOD FOR SNOWMOBILES, now as we pass into 2008 snowmobiles are the new age helicopters, providing access to peaks only accessed by helicopters before, with 800 cc engines two people can zip up even the steepest slopes, this is the future of riding in Alaska.
"THE BOYZ"
Donny Mills lead the pack into the snowboard contest scene, he has been a competitor in every snowboard contest to ever happen in Valdez, riding the latest model of AK Bommer Boards, Donny was out there to kill it and represent.
